The month of Ramadhan is often described as a madrasah tarbiyah to train the discipline of worship and character of Muslims. However, the real challenge begins when the month of Syawal arrives, where consistency or istiqamah in maintaining the momentum of worship becomes the challenge for the transformation of the character of a servant of God, worshipping throughout life. The success of the entire month of Ramadhan should not be seen solely in the excitement of its celebration, but rather it should be translated through the continuation of practices in the following months.
The values of simplicity and piety built during the month of Ramadhan need to be manifested in the reality of Syawal, especially in the aspects of maintaining relationships and self-management so as not to fall into waste. The main key to this character change is istiqamah, even if done in small amounts but continuously.
The culture of self-discipline that has been implemented is now the main guide in balancing the excitement of the Aidilfitri celebration so that the demands of obligatory worship and sunat are not neglected.
